Development of Work Related Skills
various people and developed a number of skills, two most important listed below:
a. Having a routine: working full time for the first time this year I’ve felt the effects, after seeking some advise from colleagues and my mentor, I've been advised that having a routine helps to ensure an effective day at work to ensure completion of all allocated tasks without the worry of missing something.
Since March I’ve been following routine, this includes:
waking up at 6 am every day, reaching work at exactly 8 am every day (unless there’s a change of schedule for the team), lunch at 12:30 and on a normal day leaving work at 5pm has been quite beneficial in ensuring I ensured that the toll of working long hours was minimised on my physical and mental health. I was also able to plan my days accordingly and didn’t feel burnt towards the end of the working week.
b. Planning what I want to achieve the following day and reflecting on todays plan (in order to establish what I have learnt and what went smoothly and what didn’t): using excel I’ve planned tasks for next days tasks that would contribute to my learning and reflect on how today went and make changes to constantly improve my self.
This has been quite effective in motivating me to constantly improve and has been beneficial in helping me identify my areas of improvements.
